How to make your own Potpourri

At Raising Kids Naturally we love promoting things that you can make yourself.
Not just for eating, but for smelling! (like this potpourri recipe).
Potpourri can be easily made using flowers you had in your home that you had in a vase, and then adding other fresh and beautiful scents like dried or fresh herbs from the garden, citrus fruits like lemon, lime, and orange, spices such as cinnamon, and your favourite essential oils.

First, preheat your oven to 200 degrees F. Yes, really quite low, as you're not looking to bake anything, just slightly dehydrate.

Then, take a cookie sheet and cover it with parchment paper.

Cut the heads of your flowers and place them on the cookie sheet. Add the sliced citrus fruits, whole spices like cinnamon sticks, cloves and allspice.

Add a few drops of your essential oils, and a tiny bit of water scattered throughout (like a total of a Tablespoon).

Dry everything in the oven for about an hour to an hour and a half.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Add a few more drops of essential oils as the citrus and flowers cool, and voila!
